Our Top 10

#1: HOWL AT THE MOON
We love Howl at the Moon because it's one of the best dueling piano bars that we've ever been to! The talented piano players here can take just about any request you can dream up, and if they don't know it, they'll learn it before you leave! You'll love the atmosphere and the fun-loving crowd. Don't forget to enjoy a few of their fantastic martinis while you're there.

#3: GREEN MILL COCKTAIL LOUNGE
Why do we love Green Mill so much? Because of its incredible live jazz. They've got live artists playing every single night, and poetry slams on Sundays as well. This lounge is incredibly popular not just for the music, but also for the delicious food and drinks. Get there early if you want to get a good spot, because it fills up quickly!

#4: WILDE BAR & RESTAURANT
Though there are a ton of Irish pubs in Chicago, Wilde is by far the best. They've got the warmest atmosphere we've ever encountered, with lots of books and a large fireplace. You'll think you stepped into a cozy old library in Ireland. They give you huge portions when you order food here, and the beer selection is equally huge. Great prices too. Highly recommended!

#5: SOUND BAR
Sound Bar puts the focus on their excellent DJs and superb quality audio, so if you love to dance this is quite possibly the best place in town to do it. There's a great round bar near the upstairs dance floor. You will enjoy the decor that tantalizes your eyes with bright hues in the Red Room and Orange Room, plus a VIP Green Room that's reserved for members only.

#6: SALUD TEQUILA LOUNGE
Some like to throw back shots of tequila, and others like to sip it slowly and enjoy the fine differences between each type. Salud is for the latter. They offer seventy five different kinds of agave tequilas, with tastings and dinners happening frequently. Your tequila is served in two ounce glasses to give you plenty of sips per order!

#7: MARIE'S RIP TIDE LOUNGE
Marie Wuczynski is the owner of Marie's Rip Tide Lounge, and this establishment has been well known (maybe infamous is a better word!) since 1961 because of her special brand of entertainment. You'll recognize her immediately in that blue shirt with the gold notes, and just wait until she breaks ou the old magic tricks, songs, and stories. We highly recommend stopping in around the holidays to witness her winter wonderland. You won't find another bar like this in the world.

#8: FUNKYBUDDHA LOUNGE
Funky Buddha is a favorite among the locals! They say it's the best place to let your hair down and dance the night away. The rich decor includes an Asian vibe, and everything is dim and comfortable. #10: GALWAY ARMS IRISH BAR & RESTAURANT
The star of the show here is the heated front patio. In a city full of great Irish bars, that's what makes this one a cut above the rest. We also love the indoor fireplaces for the colder months. Very authentic, excellent food and drinks, and live music on Sundays. It's hard to know what the best Irish pubs are in Chicago because there are so many of them, but what makes this one stand out from the crowd is its heated patio for the warmer months and the indoor fireplaces for the winters. You'll enjoy the ambiance here while sipping great drinks and eating delicious food. Don't miss the live music on Sundays.
